Promotional pet products again? We just returned from the Outdoor Retailers Show in Salt Lake. It’s a cool show in that they let dogs on the trade show floor and there is a pet products section. If you are dog lover, this is paradise.

I did a quick study on dogs and cats to see if the numbers add up. The latest study shows we have 77 million dogs in the US and 90 million cats. The average annual dollars spent on pet toys and accessories is $40 per dog and $19 per cat. That’s almost $5 billion dollars.

The other day we took Rufus, our office pet to the vet for an infected cut. Let’s be honest and accept that we are so attached to our pets that we drop everything and rush them to the vet probably more quickly than we rush ourselves to the doctors.
